Enough evidence against Jagan: CBI

CBI joint director Mr VV Lakshminarayana said that they have got enough evidence in the illegal properties case of YSR Congress president Mr YS Jaganmohan Reddy but they were yet to assess the value of his properties.

“Though, we have to do some more investigation in the case and we are speeding up the case,” he told journalists Monday evening in Hyderabad. Lakshminarayana said they have spoken to the Collectors of Guntur and Prakasam districts in the VANPIC project land allotment affair which has a bearing on the Jagan properties case. “If necessary, we will contact them again,” he said.

Lakshminarayana said the investigation against former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is likely to begin in one or two days. CBI officers of other units will work on this case on deputation.

Disclosing that five new CBI courts will come up in the state, he said three courts will be established in Hyderabad and two at Visakhapatnam.

CBI sources later told journalists that more arrests are likely in the Emaar case in the next few days and Stylish Homes Director Mr Ranga rao is likely to turn approver in the case. CBI may arrest some members of the Koneru Prasad family in this connection.

CBI has also completed the investigation to find out whether the Maoist leader Azad was killed in an encounter or his killing was a cold blooded murder. The report will be submitted to the Supreme Court soon. (JUB)
