Former PRP leader and founder of the Visalandhra Maha Sabha, Mr Parakala Prabhakar, was attacked and slapped by the TRS supporters out side a TV channel office at Jubilee Hills in Hyderabad on Sunday.

TRS henchmen, who were lurking around outside the TV channel office, pounced on Prabhakar as he came out of the channel’s office after a televised debate and attacked him mercilessly. Prabhakar tried to escape into the channel’s office along with his supporters but he was chased and caught by the angry T men.

The group of T men held him by the scruff of his collar and slapped him on the shoulder. Prabhakar fell down and sustained minor injuries in the scuffle. Later police arrested both Prabhakar and TRS leader and former minister A. Chandrasekhar and released them on bail.

Earlier, both leaders participated in a debate in the channel where Prabhakar defended his Saturday’s comments that the TRS ideologue late Prof. Jayashankar’s claim about injustice being meted out to Telangana area was false propaganda. He said he was ready to prove his remarks if there was a platform for debate.

Chandrasekhar offered to provide a platform for Mr Prabhakar at Vikarabad and challenged him to prove his point and convince the people there about his arguments. The TRS leader offered to keep off the T moment for ever if Prabhakar could convince even one person in Vikarabad in favour of United Andhra Pradesh. They both agreed and came out to leave for Vikarabad along with their supporters.

The moment Prabhakar came out, the waiting TRS men pounced on him and attacked him.
