SC to hear Jagan, Emaar pleas together

SUPREME-COURTThe Supreme Court said today it would hear the petitions of Jagathi Publications and Emaar Properties simultaneously.

The two companies have filed special leave petitions before full benches seeking to quash the AP High Court orders that facilitated the CBI investigation into the allegedly illegal properties of YS Jaganmohan reddy, president of the YSR Congress party and into the APIIC-Emaar land scandal.

When the petition of the Jagathi came up for hearing, the court said it would take up the two petitions on a single day as they are both related. Now, the two petitions will come up for hearing next Friday, September 16.

Counsel for the Jagathi Publications said in their petition that CBI began investigating the case even as the investigation by the Enforcement Directorate(ED) has been going on and said some of the files are handed over to the ED.
