PRP merger meeting shortly: Chiru

PRP merger meeting shortly: Chiru Mega star and PRP founder Chiranjeevi said today that the merger meeting of PRP with congress will take place as soon as possible and the election commission is likely to make the merger announcement in two or three weeks.

The merger meeting is likely to be attended by the congress president Sonia Gandhi and other senior leaders of the party.

Speaking to media persons in Delhi after discussions with Mr Ghulam Nabi Azad, union minister and in-charge of congress affairs in AP, Chiru said that merger of PRP with congress has been approved by three-fourths of PRP members and no complaints would work against the merger.

“Psychologically, the PRP merger is already over and only a formal announcement by the Central Election Commission is awaited,” said Chiru. “I have invited Sonia Gandhi for the merger meeting which will be held Hyderabad or Delhi,” he said.

He said he was not aiming at any political posts nor did he discuss such issues with any one in Delhi. “When an offer comes, I will think of it,” said Chiranjeevi who also had a meeting with Sonia’s political secretary Ahmad Patel.
