Deputy Speaker of the assembly Nadendla Manohar today awarded jail term till the end of the budget session to Mr. Mallesh, the driver of the TRS MLA Mr E. Rajender for attacking the Lok Satta Chief and Kukatpalli MLA Mr Jaya Prakash Narayana at the media point in the assembly premises on Thursday.

The syfabad police have earlier registered an FIR against Rajender and his driver Mallesh following a complaint by the assembly secretary Mr Sadaram. The police then arrested Mallesh  and produced him before the Deputy Speaker.

Reacting to the arrest of the driver, MIM MLA Mr Asaduddin Owaisi demanded the immediate arrest of the TRS MLAs also for provoking the attack and directly participating in the attack on the Lok Satta MLA. “It is not enough if you arrest a poor driver and you must also arrest and punish the MLAs who have staged the attack on their colleague,” Owaisi said.
