Comedian Russell Brand filed for divorce from his pop-star wife, Katy Perry in less than a year of their fairy tale wedding. Just a few months back, the wedding fell flat on the rocks, after both having massive fights over various issues. Brand who had beaten booze and drugs addictions and shunned the Hollywood clubbing scene and start a family with the singer. Apparently the singer wanted to concentrate on her career than to have children and settle down.

The last nail was driven into the coffin of their wedding, just before Christmas. The couple had a “massive fight” over where to go on their holiday vacation. “She was like, I’m going to do my own thing.’ Russell replied, ‘Fine, I am also going to my own thing,” an insider said. Perry ended up in Hawaii with pals while Brand spent Christmas catching up with a pal in a pub in chilly London.

A source, close to the couple, says in an exclusive media interview that, they’ve fought since they met. Katy doesn’t think Russell respects her parents’ Christian beliefs or her friends. It seems Katy took off her wedding ring and handed it back to Russell after one last devastating row a week before Christmas. Brand finally went through with a divorce filing on December 30, citing irreconcilable differences in papers processed in Los Angeles Superior Court.
