FDI in retail vote: Opposition cries foul

The government may have won the vote on FDI in retail in the both the houses of the parliament but it is clear that the opposition is not going to tone down their stand. They are now accusing government of "maneuvering" votes by "colluding" with BSP and SP. Opposition parties like BJP, CPI-M, CPI and Trinamool Congress insisted that the victory for the government came even as a majority of the parties in both the houses didn't favor the move.

BJP and it's allies are also criticizing BSP and SP for bailing out the government and taking a 'U-Turn' from their earlier stand to ensure the victory for UPA. "They (SP and BSP) need to explain this to the people. We are not going to let them get away. We will take this issue to the people. We will go to Uttar Pradesh where the two major political parties had colluded and helped the government at the last moment and by making lame excuses," BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu told reporters.
