Rapes plague Haryana

Haryana seems to have a new plague of rapes and sexual assaults on women further lowering the security the women had earlier. A recent incident has victimized a mentally challenged woman from Jind on Tuesday evening.

In the last 25 days there have been over six rapes reported from Haryana, a few of them being gang rapes. This also is Jin's second humiliation.

The incident occurred in Belarkha village of Jind district on Tuesday evening. A 30 year old woman, mentally challenged, and belonging to the Scheduled Caste communities was the victim of Dhanwa who had assaulted her sexually after he had convinced her to come to Belarkha telling her about a kin. Sources said, on way the accused took the woman at a secluded place in the fields and raped her.

The villagers had heard the screams and the man was caught. They also taught him a lesson, physically, and handed him to the police. The victim and the mother of two had told about the incident to her husband at night and a complaint was lodged at the Narwana Police Station.

A case against three persons was registered while the main accused Dhanwa was arrested. The woman relative who was the person who lured the woman, the driver of the car Gurtej Singh were both booked for criminal conspiracy.
