The cloudburst in Rudraprayag of Uttarakhand had killed at least 12 people while four were injured after several dozens of houses had caved into the ground on Thursday.

It is feared that there could be several others who could be trapped inside the debris from the disaster and worse yet dead. Disaster Management and Mitigation department had launched several rescue operations at the site as they mentioned that there could be several trapped under the debris in their initial reports.

Since yesterday midnight, in the cloudburst in the state, there were heavy relentless rains which had devastated the areas of  Timada, Sansari, Giriya, Chunni and Mangali villages in the district, officials mentioned.
