A Class VIII student in West Bengal in a public school had been attacked brutally with sticks and knives. Surprisingly the reason was extremely minor; not sharing his food with them. Allegedly his co hostlers had taken him down after he refused to share his food with them. The police also suspect that this could be an event of ragging.
The event took place in West Midnapore district of West Bengal. According to the victim. He was attacked with knives, and sticks after which he was left naked bleeding on the ground.
FIR against the suspects involved in this gruesome incident had been registered by the police.
What raises a few eyebrows is that, the hostel management, warden and other authorities could not have been unaware of such happenings unless they were negligent.
Not more than a month ago were there complaints against a warden for asking a girl to drink her own urine after incidents of bed wetting. With such wardens and managements operating the hostels, one can safely say the fate of the children is not in safe hands.
