Amphan Cyclone: Odisha And West Bengal On High Alert:- The cyclone Amphan is expected to have a huge impact on the states Odisha, West Bengal along with parts of Andhra Pradesh. It is expected to have a huge impact in these states in the next 24 hours. Some parts of Odisha are already been lashed due to the heavy rains and it is expected to develop into a cyclonic storm. Extensive damage is warned for Odisha and Kolkata along with parts of Bengal. The government of Odisha warned the people to be extra cautious and also asked the migrants to stay indoors who are on their way to their homes.

Odisha is using SMS alert system to evacuate all the residents from the coastal regions of the state. The Indian Coast Guard has been alerted and no fishermen are allowed to enter into the sea. As of today's afternoon, Amphan is about 95 km south-southeast of Digha in West Bengal. The landfall process will commence today afternoon and is expected to hit the coast between West Bengal and Bangladesh's Hatiya Islands. All the operations in Kolkata airport are suspended currently. The wind storm picked up in the coastal region of Odisha and is blowing at 100 kmph. Odisha government is said to have evacuated 1.5 lakh people from Balasore and Bhadrak and 3.3 lakh people are evacuated from West Bengal.
