Earthquake rocks Russia

A major earthquake, which was recorded at 7.5 on rector scale, has rocked Russia this morning. This strong earthquake struck off the eastern Russian coast. However, there was no tsumani warning issued. The earthquake was measured 580 kilometres below the earth's surface.

The local media there reported that the earthquake took place at around 8.30 am. Since the quake took place off the coast to north of Japan, tremors were felt in Japan especially in Tokyo city. Japan too issued no tsunami warning.

Recently over 300 persons were killed when strong earthquakes occurred in Iran. The earthquake in Russai, however, didn't claim any casualties since it occurred off the coast.
