Jaya revokes free colour TV scheme

Jaya revokes free colour TV scheme Tamil Nadu chief minister Jayalalitha today revoked the free colour TV distribution scheme of the DMK regime and ordered the dispatch of left over TV sets to the orphanages and primary health centers.
 
The DMK government which has become very popular with the scheme had spent Rs.4000 Cr during the last five years on purchase of 1.6 Cr colour TV sets for distribution to the people. Jaya, who is determined to remove the smallest of the DMK footprints from the administration, has been reviewing most of the schemes implemented by the DMK regime and revoking some of them.
 
The lady boss of the state has also appointed an inquiry commission to go into the irregularities of the construction of the new secretariat and stopped its further construction.
