Not only black heads, but even white heads do create a hurdle for the beauty of your skin… but, before even thinking to treat the same, we need to know the difference between black head and a white head, for affective cure of the same; Difference between blackheads and whiteheads The main difference between blackheads and whiteheads is the difference of the areas. Where the skin is fine and delicate, the clogged grease is not exposed to air. As a result the tips do not get darkened as in the case of blackheads, that is why they are called Whiteheads . They are common under the eyes, on the nose, cheekbone etc. More about white heads; ·    Benzoyl peroxide has an antibacterial effect and may also decrease the chemical reaction that changes the lining of the hair follicle. This may help reduce the plugging that causes comedones. Benzoyl peroxide may be used for a mild case of comedones or to help prevent formation of others. ·    Tretinoin (Retin-A, Avita, Renova) is the mainstay of treatment for whiteheads and blackheads. Tretinoin is a derivative of vitamin A and works by increasing cell turnover and reducing the "stickiness" of the sloughed cells. It causes expulsion of the plugged material and converts closed comedones into open comedones. The material in these newly converted open comedones can be easily extruded. Tretinoin can be irritating, so specific instructions on how to use it can be found here. ·    Antibiotics have not been shown to help whiteheads or blackheads. ·    Isotretinoin (Accutane) is used for severe cystic acne and has many side effects. It is very effective for comedones when used properly, but is not usually prescribed for mild acne of either type. ·    Extraction may be used by a health care provider on open comedones. This process is performed using a device called a comedone extractor. This is a small, metal, circular instrument that is centered on the comedone and pushes down the surrounding skin, causing the plug to extrude. And you can treat white heads by; ·    Eat fresh fruits and vegetables daily. ·    Have a glass of warm water with the juice of lemon in the morning. It helps in detoxifying the body. ·    Drink lots of water and fresh juices. ·    Make a paste of roasted & powdered pomgranate skin with fresh lime juice and apply over boils, pimple, blackheads and whiteheads. ·    Use creams containing AHAs (Alpha Hydroxy Fruit acids) like glyco-creams that will clear away any dead skin cells, and helps in unclogging the pores to remove whiteheads. ·    Mix Cornstarch With Vinegar, make a paste and apply on the area for 15-30 minutes; wash off with washcloth and warm water, this helps to get rid whiteheads. ·    Make a paste of sandalwood with rose water. Not just beauty, but being beautiful is a combo of looks and health. The same would be applicable in case of our beauty care regime as well. Now, take an example of our hair. Hair looks more attractive and good, only if it is maintained healthy. And for a healthy hair, you can; Apply olive oil (or Musturd Oil) at bed time and wash off the hair next morning. Boil mustard oil. A regular massage of this oil is helpful. Always maintain a balanced diet with exercise for healthy hair. Drinking plenty of water and eating plenty of raw fruits and vegetables is probably the best way to achieving healthy hair. Wash your hair with a paste of cooked Urad dal (black beans) and fenugreek (methi) 2-3 times a week. Trim the hair every 4 to 5 weeks even if you are growing it. Coconut oil mixed with lime- juice on the hair applied daily is also good for hair health .Don't use any old rubber band as they tend to break or split hair. Instead just use a scrunchy or a fabric coated elastic band. Don't brush wet hair too harshly because its three times weaker and more likely to break off mid strand. Towel dry hair first, then gently detangle using a wide toothed comb. Rinsing your hair with lemon juice can bring life and shine back to dull hair. If you have dandruff then apply a mixture of vinegar and water on the scalp before you go to bed. Keep it overnight. Rinse your head with vinegar water again in the morning. You will see the result within few weeks. Another good way to get rid of dandruff is to soak ground fenugreek seeds overnight in water and massage the paste on the head, leaving it for a few minutes and then wash it. Mix Banana in Honey and apply on hair for 30 - 40 min, and then wash it for that sheen in your hair. For stopping your hair from getting grey, you can mix Bhringraj (Ecliptaelba), Amala, corals, iron and black sesame seeds. It is very useful and even stops the graying of hair. Best manicure tips for Busy Women! February 10, 2012 12:37

Could be work from home or at Office… married or single… we all are busy stuck up with some or the other work each day. But, we cannot ignore our beauty care regime as well… so, here are some quick yet affective tips for Woman to pamper their hands with a homemade manicure… Start with a clean, dry nail bed. And when we say dry, we mean DRY. Moisture in the nail keeps polish from completely adhering and also prolongs the drying period. Avoid all this and start by rubbing polish remover across the each nail, even if there is no polish to remove. The alcohol will dry out the nail bed and leave a better surface to work with. File nails with sweeping motions from one side to the other. Don’t saw at them. This is the technique real nail technician’s use, and it cuts down on breakage and hangnails later on. Soak filed nails in sudsy water and clean with a soft brush. Baby shampoo and castile soap are both excellent, gentle cleansers that won’t dry out the skin on your hands too much. Try an old toothbrush to remove grit or dirt from underneath fingernails. Soften skin and cleanse at the same time with exfoliating or mud treatments or a paraffin peel. The same facial scrubs and mud packs you’d apply to your face can work just as well on your hands. A paraffin mask can remove deep-down dirt and leave your skin feeling refreshed. Apply a rich lotion to restore moisture to your hands. Try your facial moisturizer of choice; this will leave your hands soft, supple, and ladylike. Push back cuticles with a cotton ball or warm towel; avoid orange sticks or “cuticle pushers,” which are known breeding grounds for bacteria. Buff nails if you are really crunched for time; buffing blocks are available at almost every dollar or beauty supply store. This will give your nails a high-gloss shine without the waiting time or fumes of polish and also help encourage circulation in your hands and bring the nails’ natural oils to the surface. Apply nail polish in two to three thin, even coats. Start with a stroke up the middle of the nail, then up the sides. Make sure to cover the tip of the nail to seal it and prevent peeling. Let the first coat dry for three minutes and the second for at least five. If you don’t have much time to wait for each layer to set completely, simply do your manicure and apply the base coat at night. In the morning, apply the next layer. Later in the afternoon or evening, apply the top coat. To keep your hands looking their best between manicures, try these tips.Protect your digits with gloves. Cotton-lined rubber gloves are great for washing dishes or cleaning up; the cotton lining will absorb sweat and keep hands from getting wet and wrinkly anyway. Gloves or mittens are also a great move for dry air and winter weather, staving off the look of wrinkled “grandma hands.” Every now and then, coat hands with petroleum jelly or castor oil and sleep with cotton gloves on. You’ll feel the difference in the morning! Block dirt from getting under your nails when cleaning, gardening, or doing other dirty jobs by scratching a wet bar of soap. Packing the soap under your nails keeps the dirt out and helps make clean-up a breeze later on. Massage hands several times daily with a rich lotion to both relieve stress and beautify your mitts. The lotion helps keep skin smooth and soft, while the massage action relaxes the hand muscles – especially important for those who type a lot – and increases healthy blood flow.

To know the same, read further; Use an appropriate face wash meant for your skin type and wash twice a day. Use cleansers at night to remove make up and dirt before using a face wash. Use sunscreen everyday even if you are indoors - the sun's UVA rays come through windows too and contribute to aging, pigmenting and tanning. Ideally, sunscreen should be applied every three hours. Sunscreen should have an SPF of 30 or more. SPF is the degree of protection against UVB rays, hence sunscreen must have UVA protection as well. Make up products like foundations, mineral powders and compacts do not have adequate sun protection. Indian skin tends to tan and pigment easily and patchily. There is a very thin line between tanning and pigmentation. If your tan hasn't gone in 4-6 weeks, see a dermatologist. It is advisable to use mild skin lightening creams as prevention. Look for botanical ingredients like Arbutin, Bearberry, Licorice, Mulberry, Ginseng, Gingko, Emblica, Turmeric - curcuma, Grape seed and vitamins like C and A, and Niacinamide. Aging can be intrinsic, i.e. genetic, and can be delayed by exercise and, to a lesser extent, through diet. At night, use a moisturizer with an age-protecting agent. It is advisable to visit a dermatologist at least once a year. There are a lot of nuances in skin color, texture, smoothness, etc. that we can't see for ourselves. These can be detected by the dermatologist and mild creams/treatments can be recommended. Always use a conditioner after you shampoo your hair. It protects your hair and is a better option than oil. Conditioners neutralize electrical charge in the hair shaft and help in detangling. Conditioners also improve shine and to some extent repair minor frays in the hair shaft. Conditioning agents like hydrolyzed protein or silicon are added to increase manageability and shine in the hair.

White hair on your scalp? Ask to get out… February 03, 2012 13:41

White hair is a common problem for many men and women. While conventional hair dyes and salon treatments work to cover up the problem, they can't help to restore color to white hair. However, in some cases, natural treatments based on Ayurvedic and holistic beauty and body care can help to reverse white hair and restore some of the hair's original color, according to Julia Lawless, author of "The Encyclopedia of Essential Oils: The Complete Guide to the Use of Aromatic Oils in Aromatherapy, Herbalism, Health and Well-Being," Combine ½ tsp. West Indian bay essential oil, ½ tsp. Grapefruit essential oil, ½ tsp. Clary sage essential oil, ½ tsp. Juniper essential oil, ½ tsp. Yarrow essential oil, ¼ tsp. Roman chamomile essential oil, ¼ tsp. Marigold essential oil, ¼ tsp. Mastic essential oil and 1 cup coconut oil in a small bottle or container with a tight-fitting top. Rinse your hair with cool, clean water in the shower. Pour ¼ cup of the essential oil mixture onto your hair and scalp and gently massage it in for 2 to 3 minutes. Allow the oil to stay on your hair for 10 to 15 minutes after massaging it in. Wash your hair with lukewarm water and a mild shampoo and conditioner. Allow your hair to dry naturally after washing it. Use this treatment once per day in the morning or evening. Stop using the essential oil mixture if it causes redness, irritation, swelling or itching on the scalp or surrounding skin. Store unused portions of the essential oil mixture in the refrigerator for 60 days. Throw the mixture away after 60 days if you have not used it all. Causes for white hair at early age; When the roots of your hair stop producing melanin, your hair loses color and turns gray or white. Almost half of all Americans have some gray or white in their hair by the time they turn 40, but there are multiple reasons why hair goes gray — and a few things you can do that may help slow the process. Odds are, if your parents went gray early, you will too — some people start developing white hair as early as 10 years old. There is little to be done to stop the process, although scientists have tracked down the genes that come into play in hair graying, Bcl2 and Bcl-w. A lack of vitamin B12 could be a factor in premature gray or white hair, so consider taking a supplement to ensure this doesn’t cause your graying. Both hypothyroidism and hyperthyroidism (overproducing and underproducing thyroids) can cause premature graying. Often, if hair goes gray too early, doctors will order blood tests to see whether the thyroid is working properly. Some studies have found that smokers are more than four times as likely as nonsmokers to start graying early. If medical reasons for premature graying have been ruled out, consider whether you want to mask the gray by plucking or dyeing or opt to simply grow gray gracefully. (Plucking will not cause more white hairs to crop up, contrary to all those old wives’ tales.) If you do decide to mask it, you can try one of the many commercial hair dyes available in an array of colors. If you’re uncomfortable using a chemical-based dye, try some of the natural dyes that use henna, which can be found in your local natural food store.

Your dream of a flat tummy? February 01, 2012 13:09

Every time you watch a fashion channel or your favorite heroine on screen, you would for sure envy about her perfect figure that would not have been perfect without a flat tummy. Why just all the time seeing someone and cursing them for their assets? Let you be the one on seeing whom, others would go gaga over you… here are some simple and easy to follow tips to get that flat tummy for you; Increase the exercise This is the fastest way to lose belly fat (when paired with smart meal planning). Many people think getting into shape requires tons of exhausting exercise. This simply isn’t true. You don’t need to perform backbreaking tasks or sweat inducing labor to trim down your gut. If you want to burn the blubber all you need to do is move. Any movement qualifies. You could walk around in a circle. Waving your arms around would do the trick. When you perform movements your body must provide energy which requires resources. That resource can very well be the stored fat around your midsection. If you make a conscious effort to squeeze in extra movements throughout your day, you’ll notice that your waistline will start to get smaller. Fat? Burn it with food Did you know that certain foods take off the fat faster than others? If you truly want to reduce belly fat then you should definitely find a way to work a few food items into your meal plans. A great example of this would be spicy foods like peppers. I try my best to eat peppers with at least one meal a day. I simply love them with dishes that involve chicken or even typical deli sandwiches. It does ad a little kick so be careful. If this is a sensation that you can tolerate then please go for it. Something else you should make certain to eat plenty of is protein. This nutrient is harder to digest than fat or carbohydrates. Therefore, when your body digests protein you actually end up burning additional calories. So if you pair peppers and chicken together like I do, you’ll be ripping that stomach fat off in no time. Intake of Right Nutrients and Vitamins Nothing will go well if your body becomes starved of what it needs most: proper nutrients and vitamins. If you can’t find a way to fit these into your normal diet then you may want to consider taking a daily mutli-vitamin. It’s extremely imperative that you do this for yourself. A nice, flat tummy would do you very little good if your organs started to fail or if you felt sick every day. If you treat your body well and give it the proper building blocks then it will reward you with a sexy figure. When your body has these necessary tools it makes something like weight loss for women and men a small hurdle that you can easily overcome.
