Adam Purinton Awarded Three Consecutive Life Sentences For Shooting Srinivas Kuchibhotla:- Adam Purinton, a US navy veteran who killed Indian engineer Srinivas Kuchibhotla in Kansas last year has been sentenced three consecutive life sentences on federal hate crime charges. Two others Alok Madasani and Ian Grillot have been injured in the incident that took place in Austin Bar and Grill in Olathe, Kansas during last February.

Adam Purinton pleaded guilty in the federal court and agreed that he shot Srinivas because of his race, colour and national origin.

"The crimes at issue in this case are detestable," Attorney General Jeff Sessions said in a statement. The court believed that a promising young life has been cut badly because of the race and national origin felt the court. In a statement, Mr Kuchibhotla's widow said that her husband had great respect for everyone and was a helping hand for many. Adam later realized that not every brown skinned person is an evil.

The demise of Srinivas Kuchibhotla created fears across the Indian communities and the court felt that Adam should be strictly punished. Hence three consecutive life sentences have been awarded for Adam Purinton.
