Prakash Raj will be receiving this award on the same stage where his mentor and guru K Bala Chander received Dada Saheb Phalke Award. Puttakkana Highway is directed by B Suresh. Praskash Raj earlier won the National Film Award for Best Actor in Kanchivaram, a Tamil film directed by Priyadarshan and won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for the Mani Ratnam film Iruvar. He also received the National award for Special Jury Award for his performance in Krishna Vamsi’s film Anthapuram (Telugu).
