Bollywood hit movie ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ is being remade in Telugu jointly by producers Dil Raju and Bujji. Dil Raju recently bought the rights from its Hindi producers for a record price.
Sources said that Dil Raju has already singed an agreement with Sunil who will play the lead male role in this romantic comedy film and Saloni, who paired up with him in the hit movie ‘Maryada Ramanna’ will play the female lead.
In the Hindi version, Madhavan and Kangana Ranaut played the hero and heroine who will be involved in romantic histrionics. While the hero is a NRI, the heroine is shown as a rebellious middle class Indian girl. It has come to light that Sunil liked the story and also the character of Madhavan in the movie.
Dil Raju, who is already making ‘Napolean’ with Sunil, thinks the hit pair of Sunil and Salomi will repeat the success with this movie. The producers are of the view that a young director should be given chance to direct this film. The search for a director who will direct ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ will end soon.
