Samsung Galaxy Folder 2 Goes Official

Samsung has listed its Galaxy Folder 2 Android flip phone on its official website. The device as the name suggests is a flip phone that runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system. The successor of Galaxy Folder is expected to go on sale in China.

The smartphone is listed on company’s Chinese website, but the company is yet to announce the pricing and availability of the device. The smartphone doesn’t witness a huge design overhaul over its predecessor, but the company has made few changes to its keypad and also added a new metallic silver colour option.

The Android flip phone packs in a 3.8-inch WVGA display with 480 x 800 pixel resolution and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 425 SoC paired with 2GB of RAM.

It is equipped with an 8MP rear camera with LED flash, while there is a 5MP front facing camera also on board. It has 16GB of internal storage capacity which is further expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.

On the connectivity front, the device offers 4G LTE, GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and Bluetooth v4.2. It is fuelled by a 1950mAh battery that claims to offer up to 318 hours of standby time.
