India Men's hockey team finds new super coach

Indian men's hockey just got more confident. Following Micheal Nobb's consistent failures, he was sent packing. In his place is Australian Terry Walsh, who comes with a spectacular history of winning medals for his team. This super coach has trained several gold medal winning teams around the globe.

To start with, Walsh won a silver medal in the 1976 Montreal Games. He went on to play for Australia in 3 Olympics. He began coaching in 1990, earning himself much fame after many successful games. He began his coaching career with Malaysian national hockey team, who won many championships under his scrutiny.

Walsh also coached the Netherlands hockey team, who under him, won a silver at the Athens Olympics. As a master coach with the International Hockey Federation, he is an achiever. Would his experience rub off on the Indian Men’s hockey team?

On his appointment, Terry Walsh expressed that coaching the Indian team is one of most challenging in the hockey world. Aware of the expectations he is up against, the coach noted that he will leave no stone unturned to return India to the “performance pinnacle of world hockey.”
