Tokyo Olympics: India Hockey Men's team loses in the Semifinals:- The Indian hockey team for men got defeated by Belgium in the semifinal which was a close contest in the ongoing Tokyo Olympics 2021. Belgium defeated India by 5-2 after the penalty corners are well converted into goals by the Belgians. Alexander Hendrickx scored three goals for Belgium which made the team qualify for the final. John-John Domen scored the fifth goal in the last minutes before the game got completed. India will now fight for the bronze medal on Thursday with the other loser in the semifinal game between Australia and Germany. Indian hockey team started off well but the Belgians took the lead and dominated the match.

Soon after Belgium took the lead, they scored back-to-back goals with a strong defense. Harmanpreet Singh scored the first goal for India and Mandeep scored the second goal. Belgium broke the deadlock in the fourth quarter. Both India and Belgium were highly tensed in the fourth quarter of the match. The penalties of India turned positive for Belgium and they were converted into goals at the right time. Indians had to blame themselves as all the four goals for Belgium came from penalty corners. India too got five penalty corners but they were not utilized. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded for the loss saying that wins and losses are a part of life.
