Yuvi bent on winning for revenge

The 4-0 clobbering by the Englishmen at their home ground has been a shame to the nation and if it has hurt anyone the most it was Yuvraj Singh, who taught a rare form of cancer a sound lesson recently. The fighter has also given a similar signal to the England team before the test series in India that would begin November 15.

Talking at a promotional event for the city, he said he would settle for nothing less than a whitewash to avenge the debacle in their England tour.

"Last year when we toured England, it was a difficult time for us. This time we would like to give it back to the Englishmen. This is definitely a revenge series for us. They have a number of good players in their ranks, the likes of Kevin Pietersen but we will look to win the series. It will be a good series, a hard-fought one," Yuvraj said at his first appearance post his selection for the test.

Yuvi talking about his fitness mentioned that he was in prime form physically and was perfectly toned for the harsh 5-day format of the game. He said he would have to go to a 3-day conditioning camp to get his fitness levels evaluated expressing that he was excited to return to the long format of cricket.

With his smashing 208 double century in Duleep Trophy recently, there is no doubt that he is in his prime form and a formidable threat to the England cricketers.

He said his excitement levels were quite high after learning that he had been selected to play this series of Test Cricket. Making his presence in the games after an year of absence,  he said, “Though I have played the Twenty20 World Cup but I always wanted to play Test cricket."

He added,  "I am ready to play on any kind of wicket. Whether it is spinner-friendly or a wicket assisting the pacers, I just want to go out there and perform. At the end of the day, the wicket doesn't matter, what matters is that we win against England."
