Two New IPL Teams to be Announced on October 25th:- The Governing Council of the Indian Premier League (IPL) yesterday confirmed the news that two new teams for the tournament will be announced on October 25th. The Governing Council met yesterday and discussed about the new teams. The names of the two new IPL teams will be announced right after the India - Pakistan match in T20 World Cup. BCCI issued an official statement that said "The IPL Media Rights tender for the cycle 2023-2027 will be released immediately after the appointment of two new IPL teams which is scheduled to be announced on October 25 2021,".

The BCCI also announced the Tender for IPL Media Rights for the years 2023-2027 cycle. The purchasing date for the Invitation To Tender (ITT) for the right and operate the new IPL teams documents are extended till October 10th and the first deadline was October 5th. Jay Shah told "Pursuant to request from interested parties, the BCCI has now decided to extend the date for purchasing the ITT document till October 10, 2021," in a statement.
