Deep Sleep Acts Stress Inhibitor and Natural Anxiety November 13, 2019 11:01

Deep Sleep Acts Stress Inhibitor and Natural Anxiety:- Sleepless nights can make people restless and can trigger 30% rise of anxiety levels said several studies. The Berkeley researchers from USA said that they found deep sleep keeps us calm and it resets the anxious brain which is known as non-rapid eye movement (NREM). The results of the study were published in the journal Nature Human Behaviour, 2019. It keeps slow-wave sleep, a state in which neural oscillations become highly synchronized, and heart rates and blood pressure drop. Deep sleep reduces anxiety overnight and it reorganizes the connection with the brain. Deep sleep acts like an anxiety inhibitor which even reduces stress. Insufficient sleep amplifies levels of anxiety and, conversely, that deep sleep helps reduce such stress. Eti Ben Simon, a postdoctoral fellow in the Center for Human Sleep Science at UC Berkeley along with his fellow researches scanned brains of 18 young adults and viewed the stirring video clips of the full night of sleep along with sleepless nights. The anxiety levels were measured after which they came to the above conclusions. No sleep brains showed the shutdown of medical prefrontal cortex. The researchers also conducted an online study and tracked 280 people. They said that the anxiety levels changed over the days.
