Popular writer Ganesh Patro passed away this morning in Chennai after prolonged illness. According to the reports, Ganesh was suffering from age related issues and was admitted at a private hospital in Chennai couple of days back. Ganesh was a quintessential dialogue writer in Telugu Cinema but worked for films on selective basis.

Ganesh provided dialogues for some of the biggest hits like Maro Charithra, Idi Kathakaadu, Mayuri, Rudhraveena, Seetharamaiah Gari Manavaralu. However after Nagarjuna's Nirnayam movie in 1991, Ganesh did not work for any Telugu film. But he made a comeback with Mahesh Babu and Venkatesh starrer 'Seethamma Vaakitlo Sirimalle Chettu.' It was also his last film.
