Off-spinner Akshar Patel will replace all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja for the remaining Tests series against Australia. Jadeja was ruled out the series due to shoulder injury and will fly back to India for a rehabilitation program. There are also doubts whether Jadeja would recover from the injury by the start of tri-series in Australia.
Meanwhile, it is golden opportunity for the 20 year old Akshar Patel who has impressed with his performance in IPL and in the domestic tournaments. Akshar has made ODI debut, so far played nine ODI for India and took 14 wickets. He will make it to Australia before the start of Boxing Day Test which is scheduled on 26 December i.e, this Friday.
India is already two down in the four Test match series.
