Telangana Assembly has rejected the proposal brought by Union Civil Aviation Ministry on renaming the Domestic Terminal of Shamshabad Airport. Congress party demanded the government to take back this decision while Telangana TDP has backed this decision. Telangana CM KCR said it is a sensitive issue and would react to the Union government in a better way.

T-TDP leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao said if the Assembly opines that the decision is incorrect and then Rajiv Gandhi name should also be reconsidered. YSR Congress party has suggested Komaram Bheem name for the Airport.
