Odisha's Most Wanted Naxal arrested

The Odisha Police have arrested the state's most wanted naxal leader Sabyasachi Panda in Ganjam district this morning. Panda is involved in 50 criminal cases, including the murder of Swami Laxamananda Saraswati and four of his aides in the year 2008.

The police have raided a foxhole on the instructions of Intelligence department and detained him. Panda is not keeping good terms with the naxal leadership for the past few years. Later he had formed a regional Maoist party called Odisha Maovadi Party after he was expelled from the Communist Party of India [Maoist] in 2012.
