The Central government has appointed Governors for all the six states which were recently vacated and the Rashtrapati Bhavan has released a notification of the list of new governors. Former Petroleum minister Ram Naik has been made the Uttar Pradesh Governor and former Delhi BJP chief OP Kohli is the new Governor of Gujarat. Padmanabha Acharya will take charge as the Governor of Nagaland and Tripura while Punjab senior leader Balaram Das Tandon is the new Governor of Chhattisgarh and Kesarinath Tripati has been appointed as West Bengal Governor. Kerala and Maharashtra Governors are likely to be transferred to North-East states and decision on this will be made once Prime Minister Narendra Modi is back from the BRICS meeting.
