70 Russian drones hits Ukraine's Kyiv:- Ukrainian officials have reported that more than 70 drones were fired at Kyiv by Russia, resulting in at least five people being wounded. This drone attack is said to be the largest in the ongoing war. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned the attack, describing it as an act of deliberate terror. He expressed his concern about the Russian leadership's apparent pride in their ability to cause harm. The attack, carried out using Shahed kamikaze drones of Iranian design, began in the early hours of Saturday and continued throughout the morning. The air raid warning lasted for a duration of six hours.
Out of the 75 drones launched, 71 were successfully intercepted by the Ukrainian air force. Air force chief Mykola Oleschuk commended the effectiveness of the "mobile fire" units, which played a significant role in taking down nearly 40 percent of the drones. Mayor Vitali Klitschko of Kyiv reported that the attack resulted in injuries to five people, including an 11-year-old girl, and caused damage to buildings across various districts of the city. He also mentioned that a fire broke out in a children's nursery due to fragments from a downed drone.
In the past few weeks, there have been cautionary statements about Russia's intentions to launch another aerial offensive aimed at dismantling Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
