Jagananna Bus Bay Collapsed Even Before Inauguration:- A bus shelter constructed near Dwaraka in the Visaka city municipality region collapsed even before its inauguration. The bus bay was constructed at a cost of Rs 40 L, which is located opposite to VMRDA city central park.

Saturday there was severe rain in the city and as there was no outlet system for the outflow of water from the shelter slab, plenty of water stored on the roof, which led to bus shelter collapse (The shelter was unable to bare the weight of water and collapsed on Sunday).

There was huge sounds before the collapse, which alerted the passengers standing behind it, they ran out of the shelter and no casualties has been registered. 30 meter lengthy bus shelter is completely dependent on the back wall, and the slab was constructed without any iron rod support. The collapse of this bus shelter is completely the fault of the engineer. Dwaraka bus stop will always be filled with many students from nearby colleges and schools. Luckily no one were harmed in this accident.

The government has spent nearly Rs 4.62Cr for the construction of bus shelters in the Vizag region. Nearly 20 bus shelters on the highway are completed and now the collapse of one of them is raising concerns over the other bus shelters, which were constructed by an expenditure of Rs 40 L each.
