Five Killed While Rescuing Civilians In Kashmir:- Despite of the whole world suffering with coronavirus, the attacks at the Indian border seem to have not stopped. In one of the biggest tragedies, a commanding officer, major and three others got killed in an attack to hunt for the terrorists. The team of five are on a special operation and are from the Kashmir police. They entered a house in Changimulla, Handwara in search of a terrorist group. Colonel Ashutosh Sharma, a twice decorated commanding officer of the 21 Rashtriya Rifles unit - a specialized anti-terror unit located in North Kashmir is leading the team.

Major Anuj Sood, who was the company commander, Naik Rajesh Kumar, Lance Naik Dinesh Singh and sub inspector Shakeel Qazi along with two others got killed. They successfully extricated the civilians of the region. The terrorists opened heavy volume of fire. Two terrorists have been killed in the fight. The terrorists managed to hold the mobile phone of the officer during the encounter. As per the sources, four terrorists have been present on the spot but two of them managed to escape. This terror group is associated with Lashkar-e-Toiba and is working with local residents and foreign nationals.

After 2015, this is the first time a Commanding Officer lost his life in an encounter in Kashmir.
