Former Speaker Somnath Chatterjee Passed Away

Former Speaker Somnath Chatterjee Passed Away:- Former Lok Sabha speaker and senior politician Somnath Chatterjee passed away today during the early hours. This 89-year-old Parliamentarian suffered massive heart stroke and he breathed his last at 8.10 AM. He has been rushed to Belle Veu Clinic in Kolkata. He has been suffering with kideny related issues from some time. A team of expert doctors have been monitoring his health from the past few days. Somnath Chatterjee suffered hemorrhagic stroke last month and was treated for 40 days.

He has been recently discharged from hospital and he suffered heart attack soon. Somnath Chatterjee was hospitalized last Tuesday again. Somnath Chatterjee worked as MP ten times and was a Central Committee Member of CPM. He joined politics in 1968. Somnath Chatterjee won the award as an Outstanding Parliamentarian in 1996. He worked as the Speaker for Lok Sabha from 2004 to 2009. Several politicians have been left in shock with the sudden demise of the legendary politician and they offered condolences to his family. Rest in Peace Somnath Chatterjee.
