Pakistani Intruder Shot Dead In Punjab’s Gurdaspur Area

The Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Pakistani intruder today early morning in Punjab’s Gurdaspur area.

A BSF official said, the BSF personnel spotted some suspicious movement near the fence along the Indo-Pak border. Despite repeated warnings, by the BSF personnel, the intruder kept on marching towards the Indian side, after which the troops opened fire at him.

On further questioning, if anything has been recovered from the spot where the intruder was shot dead, the officer said the search operation in the area was under progress. The identity of the intruder is being verified.

The infiltration bid came even as the Pakistani Army pounded civilian areas and forward posts, along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir’s Nowshera area with mortars, killing two people and wounding three of them. The Pakistani shelling which began on May 11, has affected more than 10,000 families. The Indian Army, last week had foiled an infiltration bid in Rampur of Baramulla district in North Kashmir.
