Sometimes media representatives do not know what to ask because sometimes they may not have a specific question to ask. It will be a fishing to get something unknown.
Someone asked Shruti Hasan in Chennai, why she has not done any film in Tamil after '3' which was released one year ago and why she is signing for Telugu and Hindi films ignoring Tamil. In fact it is not a question to be answered the way an academic question paper is answered. It is only an attempt to start a conversation to make the star talk something from her side.
If you take the question seriously, it looks absurd as actors even if they are stars have no choice to choose a movie. It is the offer and acceptance that form an agreement. How can they pick up a movie?
But Shruti answered in a different way. She said that the heroes have restrictions to stick up to a language mostly, but that is not the case in the case of heroines. As she is busy in Telugu now, she may get busy in Hindi later and sometimes she may have a time to spend busily in Tamil. So, she says, it is foolishness to think that she is ignoring Tamil.
Leaving the rebuke aside, she accepted that a heroine is a heroine in any language. What does it mean? That means a Hero has to act well and allure the audience with that prowess. So he needs a command over the language. But heroines only have to show their skin and there is no language barrier for the skin showing. It is for them like a consumable product such as tooth paste, food, clothes and cosmetics that have no language restrictions!
How innocently we are accepting a mental programming we made, including women folk, about the female gender? Still after so much of hue and cry over the gender difference and suppression of the female gender, we still think that women are only show pieces to attract male.
A social awareness should dawn on all human beings irrespective of their gender. Only then the equality in the society will come to exist.
