As many as 7,51,165 surgeries had been performed in Andhra Pradesh under the government's health scheme 'Arogyasri' under which free medical treatment is provided to people Below Poverty Line at corporate and government hospitals.

Disclosing this at a review meeting here today, Minister for Implementation of the Scheme P Satyanarayana said the total amount spent on ''Arogyasri'' during the last five years was more than Rs 2171 crores.

He said Krishna district stood second in utilising the scheme performing 53,224 surgeries.
