Coronavirus Outbreak: Five Indian Cities Report Heavy Caseload:- Despite the lockdown implemented across the country during early days of the spread of coronavirus, the number of cases saw a gradual rise in the country. Five cities Mumbai, Pune Kolkata, Jaipur and Indore registered a huge number of cases and situations are quite alarming. The Centre decided to send special teams to these cities for the four states Maharashtra, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan which has these five cities. Remedial measures will be suggested by these teams after they make an assessment about the situation and the spread of coronavirus. Each team has ten officials who come from the Home, Health and other ministries.

53 Mumbai journalists are tested positive with coronavirus and they are sent to quarantine and are admitted in a hospital. The Centre alerted all the states with the high rise in the number of cases. The Centre also issued strict guidelines to be followed till May 3rd. Several states decided to continue the lockdown strictly. Telangana government said that strict lockdown should be imposed till May 7th while Andhra Pradesh said that the strict lockdown would continue in red zones till May 3rd. Kerala opened roads and restaurants, Centre responded saying that the state government is violating the rules of MHA. Goa is the only Indian state without a coronavirus case.
