No Clarity on AP Capitals as of Now:- Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy made it clear that Andhra Pradesh will have three capitals: Amaravati, Kurnool and Vizag. A high profile meeting has been chaired today led by YS Jagan in which the GS Rao Committee along with the ministers attended. There were speculations that YS Jagan will take the call and will announce about the capitals today. But the latest upate is that AP Government is waiting for the Boston Consulting Group report. BCG conducted a survey across the state and the final report would be submitted next month.
AP Government also appointed a committee with IIT Rourkee experts and the report too will be expected next month. There are talks that AP Government is keen on transfer the capital of Andhra Pradesh to Vizag but they are yet to make things official as they are digging out the legal issues and facts. On the whole, AP Cabinet kept the decision on capital pending and they will make the announcement next month.
