Special Courts Bill passed, hunt for corruption begins

The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly passed Andhra Pradesh Special Courts Bill along with the several other bills yesterday.

On Thursday, after the Special Courts Bill was passed, the opposition YSRCP leaders walked out of the assembly. Before that, it even led to the adjournment of the House twice.

Assure us price rise issue, only then special courts bill be passed - YSRCP

Speaker K Siva Prasad disallowed to take up the debate on price rise, as proposed by the YSRCP leaders. But after coming back from the adjournment, the YSRCP leaders that they would convince now, only if the speaker assures that the price rise issue debate would be taken later into the consideration.

Countering them, the debate on the issue would be taken, based on the YSRCP cooperation. So after a few of the slogans from the YSRCP party leaders and after getting back from the second adjournment, when the bills were about to be introduced, YSRCP chief Jagan said they are not given enough time to study the bill before introducing it.

But the Finance and Legislative Affairs Minister Y Ramakrishnudu said that, it is already delayed and has to be introduced immediately. After this, the YSRCP leaders walked out of the assembly without saying anything.

Regarding this, Ramakrishnudu said that, it is not correct to walk out without giving clarity on the issue. He asked whether the walk out is for the special courts bill or rest other bills too.

However finally, The Andhra Pradesh Special Courts Bill, 2015 was passed later. The bill is mainly aimed at recovering all the illegal wealth from the corrupted leaders or others who are involved in various kinds of financial frauds.  

Along with the special courts bill, other bills like Andhra Pradesh (Telangana Area) Horse Racing and Betting Tax Regulation, Andhra Pradesh Farmers' Management of Irrigation Systems (Amendment) Bill, Andhra Pradesh Protection of Depositors of Financial Establishments (Amendment) Bill are also passed yesterday in the assembly.
