Journos rake up regional feeling

Post the bifurcation, several leaders from Rayalaseema region have been demanding capital in the region and also special package as it is the most overlooked region in the united AP. Telugu Desam leaders have met Sivaramakrishnan committee members and requested them to name the capital in Rayalaseema, however there has been no proper response.

Interestingly, now journalists of Rayalaseema have put forward the same demands and called for a collective fight to achieve them. On Sunday, Rayalaseema Journalists Union held a meeting in which they made few resolutions which are needed for the development of Rayalaseema. One of the journalist speaking said that there are abundant natural resources in Rayalaseema and if they are used appropriately, Seema region would grow in all departments.

Journos opined that the resources in the region are being used for the development of coastal Andhra region and this should end. They also demanded the government to use the auction of sandalwood money only for Rayalaseema region. In spite of having chief ministers from this region, journos commented that this region was completely ignored and pushed to backwards. We have to see how far this issue will go!
