Parents Convicted in Aarushi Murder Case

The 2008 Aarushi murder case at last came to an end today. Rajesh and Nupur Talwar are convicted for the murder of their daughter Aarushi and their domestic help Hemraj.

Rajesh and Nupur Talwar reside in Noida. Their daughter just 2 days short of 14 years was found murdered in her bed room by slitting her throat on May 16, 2008. The suspicion was diverted to Hemraj as he was found missing.  But the police on investigation found the body of Hemraj and filed a case against Rajesh Talwar for the double murder.  But he got bail after two months.

Police announced that Rajesh Talwar killed his daughter and house assistant when he found them in their intimate relationship. But the National Commissioner for the Protection of Children’s Rights objected police statement accusing a minor in public. The case was handed over to CBI.

There no evidence against the Talwar couple who are doctors. As the case was not moving forward, CBI even asked for its closure. But as the circumstantial evidences show that the crime was done by experts like doctors only, the Judge has ordered a trial on them.

As per CBI, the throats were slit like an expert in that, indicating persons in medical profession.  The club with which Hemraj was hit was found in the house.

After the verdict of the court, Rajesh and Nupur Talwar broke down in the court. They said they are deeply disappointed, hurt and anguished, when they were being taken by the police into custody.
