Height of Havoc Due to Typhoon Haiyan

The Hayan cyclone made havoc in Philippines as never witnessed.  At a rough estimate 10000 people might have been killed by the cyclone.    Many villages at the coastal areas washed off without an indication of a village that was there before cyclone.

The Hayan cyclone left its devastating traces along the direction for 600 kilo meters in which it travelled.  Damage is between 70 and 80 percent in the Leyte province.  The Chief superintendent Elmer Soria said "We had a meeting last night with the governor and the other officials. The governor said based on their estimate, 10,000 died".

The rich vegetation is ripped up as satellite images show.  The waves in the sea caused by the Haiyan were like a tsunami lash on the land of Philippines.  A ship and Boats were thrown into the residential areas.  The wind blew at 235 to 275 kilo meters per hour.

Although it is 3 days now since the devastation took place, the rescue teams are not able to give much assistance.  The victims of the cyclone without food and water broke into super markets.  As per the rough estimate 3.30 lakhs people were made homeless and stranded and many are still missing.  Long serpantine queues can be seen of people waiting at the airport for food and water.
