It is real, though it is a temple made of cardboard at the bottom of which Sonia Gandhi's photo was placed. Praising the UPA Chairperson as Telangana Devata, the Congress party leaders and the party supporters at Karimnagar not only made the temple structure but also performed pooja to Sonia Gandhi.  

Congress party leader PCC Secretary Y.Sunil Rao made the temple with card board to place it at the Indira Chowk in Karimnagar near the statue of Indira Gandhi. MP Ponnam Prabhakar broke a coconut after conducting special prayers and gave arati to the Sonia Gandhi’s photo at the end of it.  

Sunil Rao says that Sonia Gandhi is the Goddess as she fulfilled the dream of the Telangana people. Whatever we do for her, he adds is very less.  He says that Sonia Gandhi took initiative and announced separate Telangana State and not yielding to the pressures.

The total act is in contrast to the building of a tomb to Sonia Gandhi by Samaikyandhra supporters in Tirupati.  Ironically the Indira Gandhi whose statue is in the Chowk was against bifurcation of AP.

The leaders spoke on the occasion calling Sonia Gandhi as the deity of Telangana who is carving out Telangana from the State as a boon to the people of Telangana.

The worship is restricted to the Congress party members only. TRS with a stronghold on Karimnagar is not part of it.  TRS is busy in claiming that the achievement of Telangana is due to the Telangana movement taken forward by TRS but not anything else. TRS says that the agitation run by TRS and sacrifices of the students have made the Congress Government to come down and bend to the demands of Telangana people.
