School Correspondent Awarded 10 Years Rigorous Jail Sentence

Mohammed Salahuddin Ayub, correspondent of Parkwood International School in Rangareddy District is awarded jail sentence for 10 years by the Nampalli Criminal Courts.

Ayub was charged for rape and intimidation under sections 376 and 506 of IPC.

When the case came to light it revealed shocking truth about the way Ayub did the criminal act.  A 15 year old girl studying 11th was raped by him many times repeatedly for many months.  He used to sedate the girl and rape her and after that he used to threaten her with a gun.  When the girl became pregnant he made her terminate it medically.

As the crime was proved beyond doubt with the help of records of phone calls, SMS and biological tests in addition to witnesses, Ayub is sentenced for 10 years rigorous jail term with an additional two years of concurrent imprisonment.

That is what a Court could give to the accused as per the provisions in the law.  But the loss sustained by the girl cannot be assessed in terms of her lifelong mental agony for what had happened and the social boycott she thinks she is subjected to because of the heinous act of Ayub.
