Jagan Deeksha Started

YSR Congress party President who is on bail with movements restricted to Hyderabad started indefinite hunger strike in front of his Lotus pond residence by erecting special dais for it.  YSRCP leaders and party workers reached the place of deeksha in large numbers.

As Jagan cannot leave Hyderabad a representation is being sent to Delhi.  The representatives of the party will meet BJP, other floor leaders and also the President Pranab Mukherjee.

The leaders of the party Mysoora Reddy, Ummareddy Venkateswarlu, Jupudi Prabhakar and Dadi Veerabhadra Rao talked to media on Friday said that the Congress party is going ahead with the decision of bifurcation of the State in a dictatorial way.  Even a resolution in the Assembly is not initiated.

Jagan Said that Congress party wants the City of Hyderabad be used for 10 years as common capital and after that Seemandhras should leave it.  But, he said, it took 60 years to develop the city.  How can we build a city in 10 years equal to Hyderabad?  He asked where the employees, students should go now? He also said that the entire country is keeping silent when such an injustice is being done.  He expressed his anguish for the disrespect given to the people of the State.

But, the indefinite hunger strikes are considered as an attempt to commit suicide as per law.  A person has a right to express his concern and also stop eating to register his dissatisfaction.  But if it is done for an indefinite period, the law enforcement officers do enter the scene to disrupt it.  That is what happened previously in case of Jagan, Vijayamma, KCR and many others.

The TDP President Chandrababu Naidu is also starting indefinite hunger strike at Delhi from 7th onwards.  Knowing it fully well, the political observers say, that it will not be permitted by the authorities the purpose of the leaders’ starting an indefinite hunger strike is best known to themselves.

But, there is no better alternative to exhibit one’s protest!  Any other way of protesting like strikes, bandhs etc. will only increase tension, make problems to others and disrupt normal life.  Hunger strike is the only peaceful way of expressing non-acceptability of a situation without making inconvenience to others.
