Petrol Rate Hiked Again

Petrol is costlier by Rs.1.82 decision of which was taken by the oil companies yesterday.  They say that the fall in the Rupee value made them to take this decision.

This is for the third time the rates are revised upward.  Rs.0.75 was hiked on 1st, Rs.2.00 on 16th and now Rs.1.82.  With all these rate hikes the rate of petrol at Delhi reached Rs.68.58.

The oil companies made a decision to revise the rates every fortnight depending on the crude oil availability according to which they also reduced the rates in the year on four occasions.  But all lowering of rates is covered at one go.  Although the price adjustment is to take place on 30th of this month as per the policy agreed upon, they took the decision yesterday as 30th falls on Sunday.

Most of the vehicle owners ask for the filling up for a rounded figure say Rs.100, 200 or 500/-.  Those people do not find a difference in terms of the money spent but an overall loss is suffered anyhow.

A raise of Rs.0.40 to 0.50 on diesel is in the offing that may take place next week.
