Voter identity cards would soon be transformed into smart cards. The chief electoral officer, Mr Banwarlal said this today at a press conference in Kadapa. He has said that arrangements were going on to convert these cards to smart cards.

Further, Mr Banwarlal has also said that the final voters' list will be prepared by the end of July. Already scrutiny was going on, he added. Further, he asked those who didn't enroll their names in voters' list to enroll it soon. Those who applied for voter card online would get the same within a month, said Banwarlal.

Since general elections will take place next year, all arrangements are going on for making sure that all the eligible persons get voter ids.
