The United States Deputy Defense Secretary, Ashton B. Carter, who is on a ten-day tour to Asia-Pacific countries, has visited Hyderabad on Tuesday. He met the defense officials in the city at Infotech Learning Centre in Nanakramguda area. Later, he briefed the media about his tour. He said his aim was to take forward the defense and economic pacts between the United States of America and India. It may be noted that US and India have entered into agreement earlier over the exchange of science and technology, production and applied research.

It may be noted that defense secretary Leon Panetta toured Delhi last month. During his visit to India, he has vowed to expand defense ties between both the countries and Mr B Carton is in India to work on the same.
