ED questioning to begin, Jagan's DA case

The list of detainees at the Chenchaguda prison in the Disproportionate Assets (DA) case of the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) Chief Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy are to be questioned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) from Today.  ED has sought permission from the special CBI court to question the eight members detained in the prison in the DA case, OBC mining case and EMAAR case. ED must be focussing on Mr Jagan to gain knowledge of the investments inflow as listed in the CBI chargeheet.

ED has filed a petition long back in CBI court seeking permission to question Jagan regarding money laundering from foreign countries. The Central agency has registered separate cases under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) against the YSR Congress chief, who has been arrested in a disproportionate assets case. There were wide specualtions that even if the Kadapa MP gets bail in the CBI case, he might be arrested by the ED. Anyway as of now his bail petition has been posted for hearing on June 27. In his bail petition, Mr Jagan pleaded the court that he be granted bail keeping in view his MP status besides his responsibility as a political party president. (With inputs from internet-AarKay)
