Danish software major Columbus Global to set up offices in Hyderabad

Danish Software giant, Columbus Global is all set to open its shop in Hyderabad as a part of its expansion plan. To discuss the same, Columbus chairman Kunoe has met the minister for IT and communications, Ponnala Lakshmaiah on Monday.

The company will partner with coMakeIT to set up a delivery centre in Pearl City.  After the meeting, Columbus chairman Kunoe has briefed the media about their plans. He has said that as many as 200 candidates would be recruited by the company to run the show at Hyderabad.

It may be noted that Columbus has its operations in 21 countries and is into food, manufacturing and retail sectors.  On the other hand, Ponnala Lakshmaiah spoke about the development of information technology in the state. He has said that Andhra Pradesh is ranking number fourth in the country in terms of information technology. He said his aim was to ensure that Andhra Pradesh becomes number one in information technology.

He has also said that a high-level committee has been set up by the State Government to suggest measures for accelerating the growth of information technology in the state. The high level committee consists of several IT experts from software giants such as Wipro, TCS and Infosys. (Phani)
