Cabinet sub-committee discusses T employees’ threat

Following the notices served on the Government by the Telangana Employees’ Joint Action Committee threatening to agitate in phases from Feb 21 onwards, the cabinet sub-committee met today in the Secretariat and discussed the issue.

The cabinet sub-committee meeting was held in the chambers of the chief secretary Pankaj Dwivedi and attended by deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, Ministers Anam Ramnarayana reddy and Raghuveera Reddy, apart from some senior officials.

The committee reviewed the steps taken to fulfill the promises made to the Telangana employees by the government when they called off the Sakala Janula Samme last October. The committee later invited the JAC leaders and told them that the government would solve their problems in three days.

The JAC served notices on the Government today threatening that the employees would go on agitating in a phased manner from Feb 21 if the promises made to them by the Government last October are not fulfilled by then. (JUBS)
